Training offer

L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers offers 22 master's programmes including 2 Erasmus+  in 5 major areas of study :

  • Vegetal, animal, systems
  • Environmental issues - resources, territories and urban planning
  • Fisheries science, sea, coastal zones
  • Food science
  • Landscapes

And 3 master's degrees exclusively taught in English.

As part of the internationalisation of its courses, l'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers offers courses taught in English.

Application

All our master's programmes are accessible to international students outside of exchange programs. Most of our master’s programmes are jointly offered by l'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers and other higher education institutions. Enrolments may take place either at AGROCAMPUS OUEST or in the partner institution depending on the course and the level of the chosen training (M1 or M2).

IMRD, part of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship programme, is a joint degree which offers you the opportunity to study rural development in its diversity of international approaches and applications. The 2 year master programme (120 ECTS) is jointly organised by 15 institutes leading in agricultural economics and rural development from all over the world.

L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers is one of the educational institutions of this training.

If you live in one of the 44 countries concerned by the "Studies in France" procedure, you must make a specific application for registration in a higher education institution via the Etudes en France platform.

The "Studies in France" procedure is completely paperless and allows you to manage all the registration procedures in a higher education establishment up to the visa application. You just have to create a personal electronic file and let yourself be guided.

In particular, you will be able to submit your registration requests there, communicate with the Campus France area of ​​your country and communicate with the establishments in which you wish to register.

Tuition fees, budget and financial aid

For individual students:
Depending on the course, registration fees are set each year, either by order of the Ministry in charge of Agriculture, or by order of the Minister in charge of higher education and research, or by order of the Director of l'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers.
Access tuition fees

For exchange students:
International students on an exchange semester pay their tuition fees at their home University.

If you are staying on campus, the budget to be expected is about 650 €/month.

Below, a non-exhaustive list of fees to be expected in addition to tuition fees (rates 2020/2021):

  • Room rental: 270 €/month + paying a deposit equivalent to 1 month's rent. This will be paid back to you when you leave, minus the cost of any damage to property for which you are responsible.
  • Compulsory health insurance "social security": free (are exempted citizens of a European Economic Area member state = European card of health insurance).
  • Contribution Vie Etudiante et de Campus (CVEC): 92€
  • Supplementary health insurance: around 15 €/month.
  • Civil responsibility: 12 € to 24 €/year.
  • Home insurance policy: 28 €/year.
  • Catering : integrating the campus dormitory means automatic inclusion of the full-board catering system. Meals on a full-board basis: €39/week.
  • Other non-assessable costs: clothing / hygiene, telephone, exits, transport ...

Scholarships:
L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers doesn't issue a scholarship.
Some governments provide financial support to students wishing to move abroad.
We suggest you to find out from the French embassies / consulate of your country of origin who will inform you about the different possibilities of scholarships.
You can also inquire at the AUF or on the Campus France website.

Housing benefits/allowances:
Providing you fulfil certain conditions, you may be entitled to receive housing benefit/allowance.

Accommodation, catering

The Rennes campus has 3 student housing estates for a total of 271 rooms, allocated primarily to 1st and 2nd year students, scholarship students and international students.

On the Angers campus, it is possible to have access to the university residences of the Belle-Beille campus via the CROUS.

Student life

L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers encourages the involvement of its students in associations (culture, leisure, sports, humanitarian, environment, professional world ...).

Agrowelcome's is a students association whose mission is to welcome and support international students in their different administrative procedures. The association also organizes events throughout the year to facilitate their integration.
